Kazakhstan will send Borat's brother to London movie premier
Kazakhstan is fighting back against the bad publicity created by Borat by sending a real life version to the movie's London launch.
Sacha Baron Cohen's character Borat, a Kazakh TV journalist, initially sparked am angry reaction from the Central Asian country.
But the country has now changed direction, offering a red carpet reception to Cohen to show him the real Kazakhstan.
And it is sending Kazakhstan's answer to Sascha Baron Cohen, billed as Borat's brother Jantik, to the London premiere of Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan.
He will hand out free horse meat sausages and tell the truth about his homeland.
In the film Borat portrays Kazakhstan as a nation of misogynists, racists and anti-Semites who get drunk on fermented horse urine.
Jantik, real name Jantemir Baimukhamedov, 33, plays up to Borat's stereotypes but actually studied diplomacy in London.
Baimukhamedov is Kazakhstan's most popular entertainer, who hosts his own TV shows on the local version of MTV.
Slipping into character he said: "I'm coming to see my brother. It's been a ling time now and we want him back."
But he added. "I love Sasha's old work but now he is only targeting a teenage audience with abusive and childish humour.
"I want to meet him at the premiere and challenge him to a duel. Let's see who wins. He is a great comedian but has gone down the wrong path."
Rakhat Aliyev, Kazakh first deputy foreign minister and the son-in-law of President Nursultan Nazarbayev, has also personally invited Cohen to visit the oil-rich central Asian nation.
Aliyev said: "His trip could yield a lot of discoveries - that women not only travel inside buses but also drive their own cars, that we make wine from grapes, that Jews can freely attend synagogues and so on."

For real? I hadn't heard about Jantik, but I did detect a "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em" attitude with the invitation to visit. Jantik ought to skip the horse sausage though. And I'm a middle aged Baby Boomer not a teenager. Borat crosses generations.
my sister and i make joke. pretend to be husband and wife. she crazy fun! you like to meet?
